Our greatest goal is to give you the healthy, straight, beautiful smile that you’ve always wanted. Our practice will work with you every step of the way to make sure that your orthodontic care is as rewarding as possible. Our practice utilizes the latest technology, offering a variety of safe and gentle treatment options to give you the customized, individual care you deserve. Below is an overview of the steps that will be taken during your new patient appointment.
- When You Arrive
Please plan to arrive about 10-15 minutes prior to your appointment to complete a set of new patient forms. Be sure to bring a copy of your insurance card, if applicable.
- X-Rays and Exams
Our orthodontist will need to see full-mouth radiographs of your teeth and jaw to evaluate the best method of tooth alignment therapy. Next, we will thoroughly examine each of your teeth and your oral anatomy, to take a comprehensive approach at planning your care.
- Consultation and Treatment Planning
With all of the necessary information in hand, our orthodontist will discuss which options are available to correct your teeth alignment. We’re happy to discuss any concerns that you may have, including questions about specific types of braces. Together, we’ll determine the type of braces that work best for your situation. From here, we’ll formulate a treatment plan that outlines the length of the service.
- Insurance and Financing
After you’ve selected the type of braces and treatment that you want to move forward with, our financial coordinator will review the total costs involved. This includes factoring in your dental insurance benefits, if applicable. While you may choose to pay for your treatment in full, most people decide to make low monthly payments throughout the course of treatment.
- Let’s Get Started!
Depending on what the schedule looks like (and the type of braces that you’re getting) we can arrange for you to put them on at your very first appointment. We know you have a busy schedule and want to optimize your time! We also can schedule you to come back to get your braces on within a few days. This is unique to your care plan and needs.
Visiting the orthodontist about every four to eight weeks is an important part of your orthodontic care. Our practice will work with you to make sure that your appointments are as convenient as possible. When scheduling appointments, please let us know what days and times work best for you. We understand that “life happens”! If you’re running late or need to reschedule, please let us know and we will do everything we can to accommodate you.
Visiting the Dentist During Orthodontic Care
It is very important that you continue to visit your family dentist once every six months, even during your orthodontic care, for teeth cleanings and routine dental checkups. If extra dental care is needed, we will be happy to coordinate with your family dentist to make sure that you are receiving the best care possible.
